Anna Kournikova was born on June 7, 1981. She is a semi-retired Russian professional tennis player. She enjoyed some success at the singles game, reaching a world ranking of 8 in 2000. She was a doubles specialist, and became the world's best doubles player. She often played with Martina Hingis ; the pair won Grand Slam titles in Australia in 1999 and 2002. She now plays in occasional exhibitions.
